Stirling Pride 2024

Our main event this year will take place at the bottom of King Street on 21st September 2024, in the heart of Stirling's city centre. The main stage will host a variety of music, dance, and drag acts from 11am till 5pm, including headliners Rebecca Vasmant and Kate Butch!

We will have our Pride Market on the ground floor of Fubar running from 11am till 4pm, with some live folk music for a more chill second stage. There will also be a variety of events across Forth Valley, organised and hosted by local businesses to help celebrate our first ever Pride Festival.

The National Wallace Monument will light up in rainbow colours to end the event from dusk to 1am so make sure not to miss this iconic ending to the day!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the event family friendly?

Yes! Our Main Stage and Pride Market will have a family friendly programme throughout the day, we will also have a dedicated Youth Space, named the Pride Pit Stop, which is in the Creative Stirling space at 44 King Street (above Made in Stirling).

Will there be a march?

Unfortunately we will not be having a pride march this year. With it being the first ever Stirling Pride we didn't want to underestimate attendance so to ensure the safety of attendees and the community we made the decision to not host a march in our first year.

How do I get there?

Our Main Stage is a short walk from the main train and bus stations in Stirling, we will be asking attendees to enter King Street from either side of the Athenaeum (the clock tower in our poster) and make their way down the hill towards the stage.  There is a variety of parking options in the city centre including Thistles, Forthside, Rainbow Slides, National Car Parks Wellgreen Road, and slightly further out is Springkerse Park and Ride.

I'm a local business and want to get involved!

Amazing! Thank you so much for wanting to help us celebrate. Our programme for this year is now full however if you are holding an event please do let us know and we would be happy to include it on our website.

What considerations have been made for accessibility?

King Street itself where the main event takes place is on a slight hill and the street itself is partially cobbled so please take this into consideration. In our programme we have detailed some accessibility information including the anticipated volume of the event, whether it is step free access etc.

We only have a small number of venues taking part that are not fully accessible via wheelchair these are Central Library, Stirling and the upstairs of Corn Exchange, Stirling. All other venues are accessible via wheelchair.

Quiet Spaces are available at Holy Trinity Church Hall, Albert Hall and as part of the Youth Space (13 - 25 year olds) in Creative Stirling on King Street.

Disabled Toilets are available within the Smith Art Gallery & Museum and the Thistles Centre.

The nearest Changing Places Toilet is at the Stirling Health & Care Village, Livilands Gate, Stirling, FK8 2AU.

Limited on street disabled parking is being retained at Baker Street, Corn Exchange Road and Murray Place during the event.

If you have any concerns on the day please do let one of our volunteers aware - they will be wearing Stirling Pride t-shirts - and we will try and resolve this for you. Police and Safebase first aiders will also be on site to assist should you require them.

Is the event ticketed?

The Main Event on King Street is not ticketed and is free for all to come and go as they please. Some of the additional events are ticketed but most of these are either free or operating on a pay what you can basis. Where this is the case the cost and where to get tickets is indicated in our programme.

Is there food and drink at the event?

Stirling Pride are not hosting any food and drink vendors on the day, however a number of local cafes, restaurants and bars will be open and many will have specials during the day for the event.  For awareness, alcohol is not permitted to be consumed on King Street itself during the event, unless at a licensed venue. You can of course bring along your own food and soft drinks/water for the event.

 I am not LGBTQ+ am I welcome?

Yes! Stirling Pride is welcoming to everyone. The event is for the LGBTQ+ community and our allies to come together, be visible and enjoy some time together - and have a bit of a party of course. Everyone is welcome!
