Welcome to Stirling’s first ever major Pride event! We are delighted to bring you a fabulous, jam packed programme of events across Stirling city and beyond. Over 50 events, promotions, workshops, film screenings, book clubs, exhibitions, runs and markets are taking place in the week of 14th to 22nd of September with the main event taking place on Saturday 21st September. Rainbow Crafts

Reclaimers, Thistle Centre, Stirling

Freshers Pride Closing Party

Silent Book Club

Cambusbarron Library, St Ninians Rd

Stirling Libraries first Silent Book Club allows readers, introverts and individuals come together to read and chat about anything that they would like. Free and open to all ages with tea, coffee and cake provided. 

Tuesday 17th September

Read With Pride

Doune Library, Main Street, Doune

6pm to 7.30pm

 Join us at Doune Library for this special, one off, evening book club where we will read and discuss The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne. Copies of the book are available via Doune Library or pick up from other libraries by arrangement.

Rainbow Run

Brown Bear Barbershop & Salon, Barnton Street, Stirling

7pm

The Rainbow Run by Brown Bear Barbershop will start from the Barnton Street shop with everyone asked to wear a bright coloured T-shirt (preferably from the rainbow) and join this friendly run through Stirling, at your own pace.

Queer Climate Justice Zine Making Workshop

Stirling Reuse Hub, Borrowmeadows Rd, Stirling

10.30am  to 2.30pm

Forth Valley Climate Action Hub are excited to partner with Coin Operated Press and the Stirling Reuse Hub for this interactive workshop in the lead up to Stirling Pride. Create your own Zine using a large selection of recycled collage materials provided or with materials of your own to add a more personal touch. Event is free and tickets can be booked by clicking here.

Write Here, Write Now with Michael Lee Richardson

Stirling Central Library, Corn Exchange Rd, Stirling

5.30pm to 6.30pm

Central Library Stirling hosts their first Writer’s Café for LGBTQ+ writers and allies. This is a time and space to work on your writing and connect with other writers. This writer’s session will be supported by Glasgow writer and filmmaker Michael Lee Richardson. Michael has worked on many film and television projects including their short film, “My Loneliness is Killing Me” which won a BAFTA Scotland Award in 2018. This is free event, drop in. 

Pride (2014) Film Screening

Tolbooth Stirling, Jail Wynd, Stirling

7.30pm for 8pm

Pride is a 2014 historical comedy-drama film starring Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Dominic West and Paddy Considine. Based on a true story, it depicts a group of lesbian and gay activists who raised money to help families affected by the British miners' strike in 1984, at the outset of what would become the Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners campaign. Friday 20th September

Slate Painting Workshop

Stirling Reuse Hub, Borrowmeadows Rd, Stirling

1pm to 2.30pm

Local artists, Caroline and Helen, will be hosting this drop-in creative session - there's no right or wrong! Join them to paint a slate any which way you like. Free and open to all ages. Full details can be found here. 

Community Handprint Workshop

Drop in and leave your handprints behind to create a rainbow in a multitude of colours! Free and open to all ages. 

Giving It All To Art (2024) Film Screening

An intimate portrait of figurative artist Greer Ralston as she astonishes us with her exceptional talent and tells of her plans to devote herself solely to art. This is the first feature length documentary of Rachel Dax who is a Writer, Director and Producer, based in South Wales and Central Scotland. Rachel is best known for her fiction shorts, particularly Time & Again starring Dame Siân Phillips and Brigit Forsyth and won 15 awards.

Sian Clark

Sian Clark is a 19-year-old singer hailing from Ayrshire, Scotland. Despite her young age, Sian possesses a mature and soulful voice that has captivated audiences in her local music scene. With years of experience performing at various venues and events, Sian has honed her craft and developed a unique style that showcases her impressive vocal range and emotional depth. Performing at Corn Exchange, Stirling, entrance is free & open to over 18 year olds only.

Pride Service

Church of the Holy Rude, St Johns St, Stirling

6.30pm

The Pride Service brings together churches from across Stirling to celebrate Stirling Pride in the historic surroundings of the 15th Century Church of the Holy Rude. The service is open to all, religious or not. Participants are encouraged to come along wearing bright colours.
